September 2008 -- Greetings everyone!
Futurity season is upon us and Bob is on the road
more frequently right now. He's currently in South Dakota, and after
having success
at both
Iowa and Minnesota, he continues to be very excited about his three-year-old
crop.
At my webmaster-extroidinaire's urging, I'm blogging.
(She tells me it's a great way to enhance website optimization!
-- She being Erin
Staeck,
mother to Brittany and JPH client). I'm using the blog to update
information
about where JPH is travelling to and show results. You can access
it via the
link http://www.janssenperformancehorses.com/blog/ .
I continue to try and build my photo portfolio,
so if you have purchased photos of you showing your horse, please
consider forwarding
them
to me so I can include them on the website.
If you are an MCHA member, you should have received
your board of directors ballot earlier this week. Voting turnout
was very low
last year,
so I want to remind everyone to vote!
Wishing you all the best for a fantastic fall season!
Regards, Janssen

August 2008 -- don't forget to check our blog http://janssenperformancehorses.com/blog/ as we are trying to update it before and after each show.
July 2008
JPH has been fortunate to have a recent flurry of
media coverage,
and last week was particularily busy. On Monday a reporter with
the AQHA
Journal came out and interviewed us for an upcoming article in that
publication. She had seen the Fortune article online, and called
us out of
the blue. It's amazing how the internet makes the world so very
small! She
wasn't sure yet when it would be published, but will let us know
and I will
pass that along.
On Friday July 25, KSTP (Channel 5/ABC)
came up for the morning and filmed a segment that will air on their
new "magazine" show
called Twin
Cities Live. That will air tomorrow July 29 at 3 p.m. Click
here to view it online.
We hope all is well with each of you and you are
enjoying the beautiful summer. The latter part of this week finds us
based in
St. Paul at
the fairgrounds for the NCRHA Futurity/Derby show, although Bob
will be
returning to Lindstrom most days to ride cutters in between showing
reiners,
keeping them ready for the next cutting the following weekend.
If you haven't had a chance to check out our
new & improved website,
please do at www.janssenperformancehorses.com . Erin Staeck, one
of our
clients, redesigned it and did an outstanding job. Erin has a design
business if you know of anyone looking for a great quality website.
She also
has me blogging, which is where I try to post show results, for
anyone who
is interested.
Have a wonderful day! Bob & Anita
Janssen
June 2008 -- It's been an exciting spring at Janssen
Performance Horses!
In addition to being in the middle of a successful
show season, the past
30-days have seen a flurry of media attention, starting with an
article in
the national magazine, Fortune Small Business, and Bob and Smart
Chicaway's
national Equi-Stat rankings announced in Quarter Horse News.
Tomorrow (Friday June 27, 2008), Todd Walker
and KMSP/Fox9 News are coming out for a shoot
which will air on Fox's popular Sunday Morning show sometime between
7 and 9
a.m. this Sunday. The shoot tomorrow will consist of three parts:
Bob
providing a cutting demonstration, an interview with Bob, and finally
Todd
trying out cutting himself. The focus will be on the rapidly growing
sport
of cutting, and it's appeal/presence in Minnesota.
Check out Anita's article on CNN Money -- http://money.cnn.com/2008/05/15/smbusiness/rodeo_queen.fsb/index.htm
Ryan also had his share of the limelight with a
front page article in the Star by Northstarmedia.net -- go to http://northstarmedia.net/star/STARIssues_files/stm032608-102-26.pdf for page 1 and page 18. Go Ryan!
May 2008 -- Janssen Performance Horses descended
upon Ogden, Utah and the
NCHA Western Nationasl with a relatively small contingent, but were
hugely
competitive! Bob Janssen kicked off Team JPH's success by riding
Smart
Chicaway to a finals entry in the $10,000 Novice Horse Class, the
earning
Top Ten status with his finals ride. Ryan Lind followed in Bob's
footsteps,
riding Sunny Rey Solano to a Top Ten finish in an extremely competitive
and
high-scoring Junior Youth class. Mark Blackwell piloted Smart Chicaway
to a
finals-qualifying run in the $2,000 Limited Rider as well. Patti
Blackwell
and Anita Janssen also showed.

Janssen is the new Cutting/Reining/Reined Cow Horse columnist

Spring 2008: All is well at JPH, the barn is busy
and gearing up for show season. We're fortunate to have a number
of outstanding 2-year-old and 3-year-old prospects in training,
as well as some
exciting show horses. Breeding mares have started to arrive for
their dates
with Smart Chicaway, and his offspring are doing outstanding in
the showpen. Bob has several exciting Chicaway 3-year-olds that
he can't
wait to show in this fall's futurities.
